Intro Hatha Yoga is a general term that encompasses all types of physical practice. Hatha classes denote teaching that incorporates different lineages or styles of instruction, including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Flow, meditation, and others. All the physical yoga asana practices are hatha yoga. Drawn from a vast system of spiritual practices that provides tools for inner growth, hatha yoga is primarily comprised of three of the eight limbs of classical yoga. Integrating the use of physical postures (asanas), attention to and control of the energy and patterns of the breath (pranayama) and deep internal mental focus and concentration (dharana), it teaches us how to understand the different aspects of our true nature, and how to harmonize and balance these with the greater universe within and surrounding us. At Namaste, we have tried to present a full range of yoga classes to suit your schedule, your physical level, and the daily fluctuations of the energetic body. Choose a time that is convenient for you and make yoga a regular part of your life! All of our instructors here at Namaste have formal training and a comprehensive knowledge of yoga; though teaching styles vary just as personalities do. We encourage you to experience a variety of classes and teachers to find the one that best suits you!
